Draw a Semi-Precious Stone (Aquamarine) in Procreate

Iva Mikles

Hey there!

Welcome to my easy Procreate tutorial, where we’ll be drawing a beautiful semi-precious stone aquamarine together.

Whether you’re a beginner or new to Procreate, don’t worry—I’ll guide you through the entire process step by step. Let’s draw an amazing aquamarine gem together!

I’ve prepared some fun brushes and the color palette for you, which you can use in the tutorial.

First, we will define the background. Then, we’ll sketch the semi-precious stone called aquamarine. Don’t worry about perfection at this stage; we can make adjustments later. Once the sketch is complete, we’ll move on to coloring.

Create a new layer below the sketch and zoom in to focus on the gem. Use a monoline brush and choose colors from the palette to fill in the gem surfaces. Create new layers for each shape and fill them with different colors following the sketch. Take your time and align the lines to create a cohesive illustration.

As you add more colors to the surfaces, you’ll see your semi-precious stone illustration come to life. Feel free to make adjustments and experiment with different tools to refine the shapes.

Now, let’s add some extra charm to the background. Duplicate the gem, make it a little bigger, and give it a soft glow effect. Adjust the position and opacity of the glow to get the desired look.

To add depth, create a new layer and add some dark shading around the gem. Soften the shading using for a dynamic effect.

You’re almost there! Play around with the size and position of the elements until you’re happy with the result. Remember, you’re the artist, so let your creativity shine!

With all these incredible details, your gem illustration will undoubtedly stand out. Don’t be afraid to experiment and have fun with your creations. Embrace the process, practice, and develop your unique style.

I hope this tutorial has been helpful and inspiring for you. Keep honing your digital art skills, and who knows, you might create even more breathtaking artworks in no time!
