10 Easy Steps to Paint Waves and Illustrate Seaside Landscape

Picture yourself strolling along the seaside, feeling the sand beneath your feet, and hearing the soothing sounds of the ocean. We all love that holiday vibe, don’t we? Well, in this class, I’ll take you on a journey to recreate that tranquil feeling through the art of illustrating a beautiful, stylized seaside landscape with turquoise waters and calming waves.

I’m excited to have you in my next class. Throughout my career, I’ve had the incredible opportunity to work with renowned companies like Lego and Proctor and Gamble, creating concept art, character illustrations, animations, packaging, and advertising content. Working on projects for Lego, I discovered my passion for creating environments for stories and characters, which led me to develop my skills in bringing the essence of different environments to life.
What Will You Learn?
In this class, I’ll guide you step by step in creating a holiday-inspired, stylized landscape illustration. You’ll learn handy tips on composition, practice painting water, ocean, and waves using a combination of blues and vibrant turquoise colors. We’ll also explore how to incorporate real-life references to add details and characters to your artwork. And fear not, I’ll share the brushes I use to bring water to life on the canvas.
By the end of this class, you’ll have a lovely seaside illustration that you can proudly display in your home or gift to your loved ones as a delightful holiday card. While I’ll be using the Procreate app on my iPad, feel free to use any other digital drawing software or medium that suits your preference.
