This is a quick tip tutorial on how to copy and paste in Procreate version 5.3.5
To copy and paste in Procreate, open your artwork, image, or file. Open the layers by clicking on the layers icon in the top right corner. Locate the layer with the object you want to copy and paste. Tap on that layer to select it. Now tap on the selection tool (squiggly icon) in top left corner to activate the freehand selection. Draw around the object with your Apple pencil. Now swipe down on the screen with three fingers to open the copy paste menu. Tap on the duplicate option. The arrow icon will activate. Now use your Apple pencil to move the object to desired place. Tap on the arrow icon again to deactivate the move tool.

How to Copy and Paste an Object in Procreate Step-by-Step Guide

- Open your artwork, image or file
First, open the artwork, image or file in Procreate.
- Tap on the layers icon to open the layers
Locate the layer with the object or objects you want to copy paste.
- Tap on the selection tool (squiggly icon) in the upper left corner
Activate the selection tool from the menu in the upper left
- Ensure the freehand selection tool is active
In the selection tool menu, make sure the freehand selection tool is active.
- Draw around your desired object
Use the freehand selection tool to select your desired object with your Apple Pencil.
- Swipe down with three fingers
Swipe down on the screen with three fingers to open the copy paste menu
- Select Duplicate
In the copy paste menu select the “Duplicate” option to copy and paste your selected object
- Move the duplicated object to your desired place
Use your Apple pencil to move and paste the duplicated object to your desired place on canvas
- Exit the move mode
Exit the move mode by clicking on the arrow icon in the upper left corner
- Open Layers to locate the duplicated object layer
To find your duplicated object, open the layers. It will be in the activated layer.
- Swipe the layer with duplicated object to left
If you want to copy paste the duplicated object again, swipe its layer to the left and tap on duplicate to copy paste it
- Move it to desired place on canvas
Use your Apple pencil to move it and paste it to a desired place on your canvas
