Creating unique illustrations using various references can help spark your imagination for your art.
In this class, we will look at various references to help you develop new drawing ideas. We will do several sketching and drawing exercises to jumpstart the creative process.
This will help us create a more defined layout before adding beautiful colors step by step in one digital illustration. I will share tips and a process for combining these exercise sketches and creating a unique illustration.
I will also share with you tips to speed up your process when drawing a meadow with lots of grass and flowers. In addition to this, I will share with you how to add cool details, textures, and effects to add more depth to the illustration.
Beginner friendly:
- Even if you are a beginner and new to Procreate, we will draw everything together step by step.

- I also have free Procreate brushes, which you can download and use in this tutorial
- I am also sharing the color palette with you if you want to use the same color palette I am using during this class.
- I am also sharing a rough sketch file with you so you don’t have to start with a blank page.
What you will learn:
- During this class, you will learn how you can combine different references into one illustration
- I will also share with you exercises to practice simplification from real-life photo references. You can use these exercises also when drawing traditionally. 🙂
- Using stylized and simplified shapes. You will learn to construct the bike, the girl character, and the dog.
- I will show you how to draw a meadow with flowers
- I will show you how to draw water reflections
- Then, I will show you how to adjust the proportions of your character if you need to.
- Afterward, you will learn how to add details and effects to add more depth to the illustration.
